I can't believe it's been 9 months since I last blogged. Winter and Spring have come and gone and a hot wet summer is here. Where has the time gone. It seems the older I get the faster time goes. The valley is a beautiful green with all the rain we've been getting. Unfortunately it has been delivered in the form of thunderstorms with high winds and hail stones. The grass needs mowing every week to keep in under control.
Things in my life were going so perfect. I am living my life just the way I want. I wish things could go on just the way they are. But alas, life is like a soap opera. Just when you think you couldn't be happier along comes an evil twin to kick you in the teeth. My evil twin came in the form of breast cancer. Why me? I spent an hour getting a mammogram and then a sonogram and a lump showed up. Page hospital is very small and only has one doctor on duty. She was busy with a patient so I will have to wait till Monday to find out what to do next. The nurse doing the test said it is still too small to feel so that is a good thing.
When I have to do something unpleasant I try to make a positive out of it. Advise I got from my sister. So since I don't like getting a mammogram my DH and I went for a picnic up on Skyline drive for lunch after all the test. I haven't been there since last fall and forgot how beautiful it was. It is so peaceful and all my stress just floated away. I must go there more often. We sat at a picnic table and ate great cold cut subs from Anthony's and it was so quiet all I could hear were the birds singing. There were lots of wild flowers in bloom. If I get bad news Monday I will have to go there again and have a good cry. Then I will pull myself together and kick this cancers butt!
I will be blogging every week and take lots of pictures. Thanks for listening- Elaine
